Då Svenska Landslagets tjejer är på resande fot idag så ringde jag Jonas Collbring som är Ass Coach till Tina CelinderNygren både i EVS och landslaget. Men inte med just på denna resan, fast lite info fick jag ändå. Tjejerna reser från Hasselt i Belgien till Tyskland i närheten av Achen där Matilda Wikander och Anna Rönnbäck till vardags är proffs. Där blir det mer träning och uppladdning inför kommande helgs andra del i EM-kvalet. Och jag har fått en förklaring till varför Rumänskorna var lite sura    när de mötte Sverige, men det får tjejerna själv berätta när de kommer hem. Men jag gillade det Jonas sa.

De Svenska tjejerna tog ett set mot Rumänskorna som Svenskorna gladdes extra mycket åt då Rumänskorna inte visat sin mest glada, positiva sida   . Trots frånvaro av leende hos Rumänskorna leder de sin grupp.

Hur de manliga Portugiserna uppträdde mot våra Svenksa killar har jag ingen aning om men de leder också sin grupp.

It looked easy for the Romanians in the last game of the qualification tournament against the Swedish girls. So coach Darko Zakoc took the risk to start with his ‘second’ team. With the experienced Nedelcu as the big star of Romania, the Swedish coach had to take two quick time-outs at 0:4 and 6:12, without a real effect, as Romania stamped a mighty 14-25 in the first set. But in the second set the Swedish girls, always fighting for each point, surprised even the Romanian coach leading 4:0 and 7:3. And suddenly the Romanian team ‘number one’ was again on court to solve the problems. It seemed to be the solution, but captain Anna Rönnbäck and Sara Pettersson saw it in another way. After an intelligent time-out at 12:13, they put the Romanians under pressure leading 20:17. Lina Lundström was responsible for the 21:17 and Cecilia Hall (only 18 years of age) made the surprise complete with a strong block and the first win of a set for the Swedish team in this tournament: 25-19. ‘Enough’, was the Romanian opinion after that unexpected defeat and they started motivated in the third set: 7:11 and finished the Swedish dream to win one more set, even if the not that concentrated Romanians smashed … under the net. There was no chance for the courageous Scandinavian girls in the fourth set, while the Romanians made the difference with Nedelcu on serve. “A lack of concentration” were the only words that coach Zakoc could give as a comment. His Swedish colleague was delighted with the win of the first set of the tournament. “We decided to hit and to serve till the end and with a good reception we surprised the Romanians. Awards in my team to captain Anna Rönnbäck, libero Lena Andersson and Sara Pettersson. This was a good week of experience for Swedish Volleyball”.

Andra EM-kvalhelgen är redan nu på fredag, lördag och söndag.
